At Innovate, we believe that many of the challenges facing our institutions—healthcare, law, politics, and education—can be addressed through technology, but only when we go beyond increasing efficiencies, to unlock new dimensions of value. The simplest real-time algorithms can reveal insights and solutions that were previously beyond human reach, and what I call ‘AI Lite’ is a potential niche technology that can even induce creativity – human innovation in real time. I would also argue that technology can shape culture, the power to inspire and even determine empathy, transparency, beauty, and meaning – for both practitioners and those they serve.
